Responsible Sourcing

Throughout a Forevermark diamonds’ journey from rough to polished, particular care has been taken to ensure responsible business practices, to support the advancement of women and to protect the natural world, which is the ultimate source of our diamonds.

Mark of Integrity
At the heart of a Forevermark diamond lies an enduring commitment to integrity. Our unique inscription is an assurance that it has met Forevermark’s standards of beauty, rarity and that it has been responsibly sourced.
From the moment a Forevermark inscribed diamond is unearthed, it is tracked and monitored at each stage of its journey to ensure that its conflict-free, untreated and natural.
Integrity in our business is as important as the integrity of our diamonds. As part of our CSR (corporate social responsibility), we ensure that all employees and communities from diamond producing areas benefit from legal, safe and responsible business practices.

Conflict-free Diamonds
A Forevermark diamond is a conflict-free diamond, handcrafted with care. Each Forevermark diamond source must comply with the Kimberley Process, an international monitoring system co-founded by the De Beers Group with the aim of eradicating the trade in conflict diamonds.
Ethical sourcing is at the heart of a Forevermark diamond. We examine the human rights standards, political climate and socio-economic profile of every community which might be a source of Forevermark diamonds.

Natural and Untreated
Only diamonds verified as natural and untreated can acquire the Forevermark inscription.
Forevermark diamonds are tested, authenticated and inscribed at the De Beers Group Institute of Diamonds, which has set its own high standards in the accuracy and consistency of diamond grading. Our expert team uses meticulous, standardised processes, bespoke software and proprietary grading instruments to create an accurate and consistent profile of each diamond. To add precision, accuracy and consistency, they also use a system of sub-grades for colour and clarity to result in the selection of stunning, natural diamonds.
Each diamond must pass these tests at least five times before it will finally be inscribed with the Forevermark icon and its own unique identification number.

Authorised Forevermark Diamantaires
A Forevermark diamond can only be cut and polished by Authorised Forevermark Diamantaires. The beauty and integrity of a Forevermark diamond is furthered by its support of local sorting, cutting and polishing industries. The De Beers Group encourages the sale of a proportion of its diamonds to local customers for manufacturing in countries where diamonds are sourced. This keeps the value of those diamonds in the country, and encourages the creation of thriving local communities.

For Women. Forever
Upholding the inherent dignity, value and potential of women is a very important aspect of a Forevermark diamond. Sharing in De Beers Group’s Building Forever strategy, Forevermark is committed to accelerating equal opportunities. Our vision is to accelerate economic inclusion and support diverse voices to help shape the future of our business, communities and society.
Healthcare and Education
Good healthcare and education are essential for the social and economic development of local diamond-producing communities, and particularly for women. The De Beers Group helps to provide healthcare and education for its employees working in these communities, as well as their families and other local inhabitants.
It is imperative to the De Beers Group that we protect our employees and other local inhabitants of diamond-producing areas from HIV, AIDS and associated illnesses, such as tuberculosis, the consequences of which can fall heavily on women. We protect all of our employees and their family members through a free and highly effective program of prevention, treatment and support.

Protecting nature’s treasures
A Forevermark diamond is a lifelong reflection of the beauty, perfection and infinite variety of nature. As part of the De Beers Group, we support the numerous initiatives run by the De Beers Group which honour this deep connection between diamonds and the earth.
We are especially proud of our protection of the landscapes and ecosystems throughout the diamond-producing regions of Southern Africa and Canada.
